Fire Board Meeting: December 8, 2008 Board Members Present: Chair, Russ Norton, Larry Santamour, Arnold Welch, Maxine Larson and Deb Podoley Fire Department Present: Chief Fred Shaver Corrections to minutes for November 10,2008: None Proceedings: Meeting was called to order by Chair, Russ Norton at 7:00 PM Old Business: Chief Shaver said there has been no word from DEQ regarding the Dry Hydrant. Discussion was held concerning the tower. Both Chief Shaver and Chair, Russ Norton have tried to reach someone and has been unsuccessful in getting a response. Chief Shaver is currently seeking bid from other companies to install a tower. Chief Shaver also indicated the fire department needs to renew their FCC license. The 2009 meeting dates were approved as written with the exception of the September date. The September date was changed to Wednesday, September 9, 2009 due to Labor Day. New Business: Runs: There have been 121 runs so far this year. Motion made by Arnold Welch and seconded by Deb Podoley to approve the runs. Bills: Chief Shaver received a letter stating that State Farm does not pay medicals. The bills should be sent to the clients medical insurance company. Discussion was also held regarding sending the bill directly to the client. Chief Shaver said there was $1000.00 in budget for the tower and that 2 frequencies are needed. FCC license has to be updated to cover the 100 ft. tower. He also indicated thai Anderson Radio will put up the tower but would not do the radio's. Chief Shaver said due to the repairs regarding the garage door opener it will need to updated at a cost of $300.00. Russ Norton said that Frank Delecki would do the work and will order the parts. The repairs will be done when the parts (Lirtmaster witn a programmable unit) are in. A bill will be submitted at that time. Russ Norton and Larry Santamour are currently working on getting donated exercise equipment for the fire department. Chief Shaver said the fire department is currently in need of more fire fighters. He currently has 2 Jennifer Robb and Heather Marr in school from 12/1-5/1 and they attend 3 days per week. Discussion was held regarding putting up a notice on the web sight and using the township bill board to find additional firefighters. Motion made by Arnold Welch and seconded by Deb Podoley to pay the bills. Motion passed. Next meeting will be January 12,2009, at 7:00 PM.
