Secord Township 5-Year Road Plan

The Secord Township Road Committee met several times to discuss a new road construction plan for the proposed millage renewal. This final proposal was presented to the Secord Township Board and approved for implementation pending acceptance of the 5 (five) year millage proposal to be voted on May 6, 2008.
 
After completing the current paving schedule, the committee recommends a new 3.8 mile paving plan within the township:

1) West Branch Drive— approximately. 7 of a mile South of Lundy to existing pavement Preparation 2009, Paving 2010

2) Wirtz Road — approximately 1.0 mile
Between Lakeshore Dr. & Three Rivers Rd. Preparation 2010, Paving 2011

3) West Branch Drive—approximately .4 of a mile North of Lundy Lakeshore Drive - approximately .5 of a mile From existing pavement south of Fire House Preparation 2011, Paving 2012

4) Pineland Point — approximately. 1 of a mile Whispering Pines Ct.— approximately. 1 of a mile Whispering Pines Road — approximately .5 of a mile Preparation 2012, Paving 2013

5) Moose Drive — approximately .3 of a mile Center Road & approximately .2 mile from Ridge Road south towards Young Preparation 2013, Paving 2014

This plan is based on current costs from Road Commission. The Road Committee also recommends to the Secord Township Board that the existing millage renewal be revised for 2.25 % mills (5 years) for new construction and .75% mills (5 years) for road maintenance. The combined millage will remain, as current, to the taxpayers.
 
Additional roads to be considered at end of this proposal: Center Road, Lakeshore Dr. and Young’s Road.
